10 Jul 2025

MIRA collected MVR 2.63 billion as revenue in June 2025. This is an increment of 27.0% compared to the same period last year. Moreover, it is an increment of 10.4% compared to the forecasted amount for June 2025.

Revenue for June 2025 increased compared to June 2024, mainly due to higher collections of TGST, Green Tax and Land acquisition and conversion fee. Additionally, tourist arrivals in May 2025 rose by 13.1% compared to May 2024, boosting collections of TGST, Green Tax and Airport Taxes and Fees. The rise in tourist arrivals, along with the increased Green Tax rates from January 1, 2025, and higher Airport Taxes and Fees effective from December 2024, contributed to the overall increase in revenue collection.

Revenue of June 2025 is higher by 10.4% compared to projections primarily due to increased Bank Profit Tax and TGST collections, driven by higher-than-expected tourist arrivals.

Moreover, 16.7% of the monthly revenue was recovered through efforts to collect outstanding dues, which collectively led to the increment in overall revenue compared to projection.

In June 2025, GST accounted for the largest share of revenue received by MIRA which is 36.5% or MVR 960.9 million. The next largest revenue was from Income Tax which is 24.1% or MVR 634.0 million. In addition, Tourism Land Rent MVR 403.1 million (15.3%), Green Tax MVR 163.3 million (6.2%), Airport Development Fee MVR 133.2 million (5.1%) and Departure Tax MVR 133.1 million (5.1%),

Out of the revenue collected in June 2025, USD 116.7
