The MIRA enters into an MOU with the Maldives Customs Service (18 July 2012)

The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has entered into its second Memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a Government Institution today. This MOU was signed between the MIRA and the Maldives Customs Service for the exchange of information between the two Institutions.

The MOU was an eminent step to faciliate in acquiring relevant information available from the Maldives Customs Service through a systematic mechanism for the audit, assessment and investigations carried out by the MIRA.

The MOU was signed on 18 July 2012 at 1000 hrs in a ceremony held to mark the occasion, with the Commissioner General of Taxation, Yazeed Mohamed signing on behalf of MIRA and Commissioner General of Customs, Mohamed Aswan signing on behalf of the Maldives Customs Service.

Arrangements on formulation of other such Agreements with other Institutions in the near future is in progress.
