MIRA collects MVR 1.71 billion as revenue in August 2020

MIRA collected MVR 1.71 billion as revenue in August 2020. This is an increment of 97.6% compared to the same period last year.

One of the reasons behind the increment in August 2020 compared to August 2019 is due to the deadline for the submission and payment of the Income Tax First Interim fell during August 2020. The second reason behind the increment is due to receiving lease period extension fees to extend lease period to 99 years during August 2020.

The greatest share of the revenue collected for August 2020 was from Income Tax with MVR 783.76 million or 46.0% of total revenue. The second largest contributor was BPT (MVR 474.57 million or 27.8%). Other significant contributors include GST (MVR 293.91 million or 17.2%), Lease Period Extension Fee (MVR 76.93 million or 4.5%), Residential Permit (MVR 21.49 million or 1.3%) and other taxes and fees (MVR 54.96 or 3.2%).
