MIRA collects MVR 1.3 billion as revenue in February

MIRA collected MVR 1.3 million in February 2018. This is 19.4% higher than the revenue collected in February 2017.

The reason for the increase in revenue collected in February is mainly due to the increase in collection from GST and Green Tax and due to the collection of outstanding Airport Development Fee for 2017 during this month. Increase in the collection of GST and Green Tax are due to 13.6% rise in tourist arrivals

The greatest share of the revenue collected for February 2018 was from GST with MVR 800.11 million or 63.7% of total revenue. The second largest contributor was BPT (MVR 122.88 million or 9.8%). Other significant contributors include Green Tax (MVR 77.35 or 6.2%), Airport Development Fee (MVR 65.61 million or 5.2%), Airport Service Charge (MVR 65.58 million or 5.2%) and other taxes and fees (MVR 124.10 or 9.9%).

Out of the revenue collected in February 2018, USD 54.5 million constitutes the dollar collection.
