The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) collected MVR 983.5 million last October. This brings the total revenue collected this year to MVR 12.89 billion. This is 10.7% higher than the revenue collected in October 2017.
The greatest share of the revenue collected for October 2017 was from GST with MVR 539.5 million or 54.9% of total revenue. The second largest contributor was Tourism Land Rent (MVR 128.5 million or 13.1%). Other significant contributors include Business Profit Tax (MVR 78.5 million or 8%), Green Tax (MVR 53.9 or 5.5%), Airport Service Charge (MVR 45.4 million or 4.6%) and other taxes and fees (MVR 137.6 or 14%).
Out of the revenue collected in October 2017, USD 38.1 million constitutes the dollar collection.
