MIRA Collects more than MVR 1.1 billion in April

The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) collected MVR 1.13 billion last April. This is 26.5% higher than the revenue collected in April last year. This was mainly due to the increase in collection from GST, Withholding Tax, Airport Service Charge, Remittance Tax, Tourism Land Rent and Land Acquisition and Conversion Fee when compared to April of last year.

The greatest share of the revenue collected for April 2017 attributed to GST with MVR 658.5 million or 58.5% of total revenue. The second largest contributor was Airport Service Charge (MVR 91.1 million or 8.1%). Other significant contributors include BPT (MVR 85.7 or 7.6%), Tourism Land Rent (MVR 65.1 or 5.8%), Green Tax (MVR 62 million or 5.5%) and other taxes and fees (MVR 162.9 million or 14.5%).

Out of the revenue collected in April 2017, USD 43.1 constitutes the dollar collection.
