Maldives Elected for CATA management committee

Maldives has been yet again elected for the management committee of Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrators (CATA) at the 13th Annual CATA General Meeting held in Melaka, Malaysia.

CATA is one of the largest international organization of tax administrators in the world. CATA currently has a membership of 47 countries tax authorities. In addition to Maldives, tax authorities of Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Botswana, Nemibia, Mauritius, Srilanka, India, Malta, England, Canada, Barbados and Papua New Guinea have been elected to the management committee of CATA. The committee comprising of 14 countries is elected for a term of 3 years.

CATA is an organization that plays an important role in networking between the respective tax authorities, carrying out conferences and training programs, developing the tax authorities of its member countries with the use of technological advancements. This role is mainly played by the 14 countries elected to the management committee by the member countries of CATA. Maldives was first elected in 2012 for the CATA management committee.
