MIRA collects Rufiyaa 835.7 million as September revenue

MIRA has collected Rufiyaa 835.7 million as revenue for September 2014.This is 4.3% more than the forecasted amount for this month. This amount is also 24.4% more than the amount collected in the corresponding month in 2013. The reason for revenue growth is because collection of Tourism Land Rent, GST (non-tourism sector), and BPT increased significantly compared to last year.

Tourism Land Rent contributed the most revenue in September 2014 with a total of Rufiyaa 315.7 million. The second highest contribution came from GST. A total of Rufiyaa 302.7 million was collected as BPT. Additionally, Rufiyaa 79.3 million was collected as Tourism tax, Rufiyaa 49.4 million was collected as BPT and Rufiyaa 26.5 million was collected as Airport Service Charge. Out of the total revenue collected in September, 40.3 million dollars constitute the dollar collection.

MIRA has collected Rufiyaa 9.01 Billion as of September 2014. This is 26.3% more than the corresponding period in 2013. 2014 collection has already surpassed the total collection of 2013 (MVR 8.98 billion).
