MIRA collects 2.40 billion as revenue for the third quarter of 2013

Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has collected Rufiyaa 2.4 billion as revenue for the third quarter of 2013. This is 7.7% more than that collected during the corresponding quarter in 2012, and 2.6% more than the estimated revenue for this quarter.  89.5% of this revenue was collected through GST, BPT, Tourism land rent, Tourism tax and Bank Profit Tax.

51.7% of the revenue collected was in Maldivian Rufiyaa. This is because there was a deadline of BPT falling into the quarter where a large number of taxpayers paid BPT in Rufiyaa. 48.3% of the revenue was in dollars, amounting to a total of US$75.69 Million.

GST contributed the most revenue with a total of Rufiyaa 775.6 Million while the second highest revenue was collected through BPT. A total of Rufiyaa 711.3 million was collected as BPT.

28 October 2013 is an important deadline in GST. It is the deadline for submission of GST return and payment of GST for September 2013, and for the third quarter of 2013.
