MIRA collects 2.14 billion Rufiyaa as revenue in the second quarter of 2013

MIRA has collected 2.14 billion Rufiyaa as revenue in the second quarter of 2013. This amount is 48% more than the collecting of the corresponding quarter of 2012, and 34.3% more than the estimated revenue for this quarter. 89% of the revenue collected came from GST, BPT, Tourism land rent, Tourism tax and Bank profit tax.

59.9% of the revenue collected was in US dollars. This amounts to a total of US$ 83.8 million. This is 40.1% more than the revenue collected in US dollars for the corresponding quarter in 2012 Tourism GST contributed most of this revenue, with a total of US$ 41.8 million.

In the second quarter of this year GST contributed the most revenue with a total of Rufiyaa 933.8. The second highest revenue was collected as BPT. A total of Rufiyaa 391.5 million was collected as BPT.

There are two important deadlines which falls in the last week of this month. 28 July 2013 is the deadline for payment of GST for the month of June, and for the second quarter of 2013. Additionally, 31 July 2013 is the deadline for BPT first interim payment for tax year 2013.
