Singapore Cooperation Enterprise commences training workshops for MIRA staff

Under the ‘Capacity building program on tax and trade facilitation in the Maldives’ agreement between the  Ministry of Economic Development and Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE), SCE commenced training programs for staff of MIRA yesterday.

The training program will be carried out as three workshops. They are Audit and Investigation, Taxpayer Support and Services, and Enforcement and Compliance. Each workshop is about 5 days long and will be conducted from 1500 to 2200 hrs.

The trainers are experts from the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) who had been involved in the implementation of GST in Singapore. These training programs will allow staff of MIRA to benefit from the experience of the IRAS, especially in attaining information with regards to audits and investigations, and in providing quality taxpayer services.
