The MIRA enters into an MOU with the Maldives Police Service (04 Aug 2012)

The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has entered into its third Memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a Government Institution today. This MOU was signed between the MIRA and the Maldives Police Service for the exchange of information between the two Institutions.


This MOU will allow efficient implementation of Laws enforced by  both organization and to share resources to attain objectives and goals of the two organizations. It will facilitate the assistance of Maldives Police Service to MIRA in investigating civil crimes associated with tax and in acquiring tax owed by defaulting taxpayers. This MOU would also mean that Maldives Police Service will have access to the technical expertise of MIRAs employees regarding commercial crimes related to tax.


The MOU was signed on 04 August 2012 at 2130 hrs in a ceremony held at MIRA to mark the occasion,with the Commissioner General of Taxation, Yazeed Mohamed signing on behalf of MIRA and Commissioner of Police, Abdulla Riyaz signing on behalf of the Maldives Police Service.
