MIRA collects MVR 1.41 billion as revenue in February 2022

MIRA collected MVR 1.41 billion as revenue in February 2022. This is an increase of 40.1% compared to the same period last year. And an increase of 17.6% compared to the forecasted amount for February 2022.

Revenue of February 2022 is higher than February 2021, due to the increment in collection of TGST, GGST, Income Tax, Green Tax, Tourism Land Rent and Airport Taxes and Fees. Tourist arrivals of January 2022 increased by 43.1% compared to January 2021, which led to the increment in tourism related taxes.

The greatest share of the revenue collected for February 2022 was from GST with MVR 972.10 million or 69.1% of total revenue. The second largest contributor was Income Tax (MVR 138.21 million or 9.8%). Other significant contributors include Green Tax (MVR 91.44 million or 6.5%), Airport Service Charge (MVR 51.99 million or 3.7%), Airport Development Fee (MVR 44.85 million or 3.2%) and other taxes and fees (MVR 107.98 million or 7.7%).

Out of the revenue collected in February 2022, USD 63.09 million constitutes the dollar collection.
