MIRA collects MVR 1.63 billion as revenue in April 2022

MIRA collected MVR 1.63 billion as revenue in April 2022. This is an increase of 14.7% compared to the same period last year. And an increase of 45.8% compared to the forecasted amount for April 2022.

April 2022's revenue collection is higher than April 2021, mainly due to the receipt of Lease Period Extension Fee, increment of tourism related taxes, along with the revenue increment from the amendments brought to the Airport Taxes and Fees Act.

The greatest share of the revenue collected for April 2022 was from GST with MVR 977.88 million or 60.0% of total revenue. The second largest contributor was Lease Period Extension Fee (MVR 153.60 million or 9.4%). Other significant contributors include Income Tax (MVR 124.72 million or 7.7%), Green Tax (MVR 87.25 million or 5.4%), Airport Development Fee (MVR 76.71 million or 4.7%) and other taxes and fees (MVR 210.12 million or 12.9%).

Out of the revenue collected in April 2022, USD 72.65 million constitutes the dollar collection.
