MIRA collects MVR 1.51 billion as revenue in November 2022

MIRA collected MVR 1.51 billion as revenue in November 2022. This is an increase of 20.4% compared to the same period last year. And an increase of 43.7% compared to the forecasted amount for November 2022.

Revenue of November in 2022 is higher than 2021, mainly due to the increment in collection of Lease Period Extension Fee, Income Tax, Airport Development Fee, Departure Tax, TGST and Green Tax. With the change in the tax rate based on flying class and due to the increment in tourist arrivals of October 2022 compared to the corresponding month of 2021 by 8.2%, Airport taxes and Fees collection has increased. Additionally, receipt of Tourism Land Rent for previous deadlines contributed to this favorable outcome. Furthermore, receipt of USD 15 million as Lease Period Extension Fee (LPEF) also contributed to the comparative increment in revenue. There was no LPEF collected in November 202.

The greatest share of the revenue collected for November 2022 was from GST with MVR 787.62 million or 52.3% of total revenue. The second largest contributor was Lease Period Extension Fee (MVR 230.35 million or 15.3%). Other significant contributors include Income Tax (MVR 145.34 million or 9.6%), Green Tax (MVR 76.29 million or 5.1%), Airport Development Fee (MVR 73.36 million or 4.9%) and other taxes and fees (MVR 193.85 million or 12.9%).

Out of the revenue collected in November 2022, USD 63.68 million constitutes the dollar collection.
